Hélène Carvallo

I am a French attorney and through the years I developed an international practice, for married or unmarried couples, first in Paris and currently in New York, in all areas of Matrimonial and Family Law : cross-border separation and divorce, child or spousal support, prenuptial and postnuptial agreements or ‘contrats de mariage’, division of assets, domestic violence and order of protection, child custody and visitation rights, child abduction and relocation cases.

I also work on the enforcement of foreign orders in New York.

Additionally, I have developed a specific focus and expertise in cross border estate planning and inheritance cases.

With both the Paris and New York bars, through an international practice on both sides of the Atlantic, I am able to comprehend and explain all impacts of an international marriage, divorce, or death.

Though court litigation may be necessary, I seek to encourage settlement and mediation.

FAAN Law

My professional collaboration with the law offices of Ms. Anne-Carole Plaçais, an attorney admitted to practice in Paris, allows us to provide our clients with the most appropriate legal advises on their personal or patrimonial situation.

Jointly, we have created and developed a network of professionals, mainly in the U.S and in France, but also in other European countries, with complementary skills, in order for our client to get a global vision of their legal situation.

In addition

In addition to my private practice, I seek to offer pro bono advises to individuals who cannot afford my services.

In 2016-2017, I have volunteered at the Family & Matrimonial Department of the Legal Aid Society in Brooklyn, and continue with pro bono in international abduction cases.

With Anne-Carole Plaçais, we also provide French citizens with free legal advise at the Consulate General of France in New York, through monthly pro bono consultations.
